Hiring fees

The Downswood community centre, Maidstone. ME15 8XG, is owned by Maidstone Borough Council and has been leased and managed exclusively and successfully by volunteers from the Downswood community association (DCA), since the opening in 1990. The DCA receive no regular funding whatsoever to run and operate the centre, income for this is raised from hiring fees, fundraising events and the goodwill of all our fantastic volunteers.

The DCA general committee comprises of local residents and representatives of all the community centre affiliated groups and sections. After careful consideration by this committee at the October 2018 meeting it was agreed that the hiring fees for the centre should be increased by 10% from 01st January 2019.
